MSP 505: Developmental Language Disorders

Advanced topics in the natural receptive and expressive language development as well as the social and behavioral aspects of communication. This course will cover the potential etiologies and characteristics of language disorders in children with specific language impairment, autism spectrum disorders, and cognitive based language impairments as well as the interaction between language, learning, and literacy. The focus of the course will be in the assessment, diagnosis and effective treatment of language disorders in pediatrics.
