The Alfaisal University College of Medicine (COM) in Riyadh offers an excellent 24 credit hour, 1-year Higher Diploma in Public Health. This program provides students with the knowledge required to be successful in public health practice and research. Students will acquire a comprehensive grounding in principles of public health, as well as gain competency in a range of public health skills such as health systems management, policy analysis, public health programming, and epidemiology. This program focuses on developing students’ competencies in leadership and communication, in addition to providing students the opportunity to explore their interests further through practical projects and research. The program also facilitates the development of a research-inspired curriculum which encourages students to use best practices for creating evidence-based public health policy development. This diploma also provides the opportunity to specialize in a specific field of public health and provides networking opportunities through guest lectures and conferences. Students who successfully complete the diplomas gain the knowledge and skills they need to positively influence population health.
